Community Involvement

In 2015, I was fortunate to donate bone marrow to a mother of 4 suffering from Leukemia. The entire process was facilitated by Gift of Life, a leading bone marrow, stem cell and gene therapy organization that has directly saved thousands of lives. I was honored to join the Board of Directors in 2017 to play a very small part in helping to cure those with blood, bone and other cancers through tissue typing, and cellular and gene therapy. Ask me about swabbing your cheek to be on the registry - you can save a life!

As a daughter of Chinese immigrant parents having arrived in Montreal with no money or family connections, she understands the resilience and determination required to survive and win. Baiyin spent her College of William and Mary days founding and leading an ESG-focused organization, then spent two years as a generalist investment banker at BB&T Capital Markets, then set off on her tech investing journey at ClearSky, OpenView, and Ascent Venture Partners. She has invested in and served on boards of dozens of companies. She lives in Boston and Miami with her husband Austin and rescue pup Hunter.

Community Involvement

I care deeply about sustainable living, access to education and diversity and inclusion in tech. I've served as a board advisor and volunteer to numerous local educational programs focused on underrepresented groups, such as BUILD and ABLE. I serve as a Chair of the New England Venture Network, which is a community-building and inclusive organization connecting tech investors together to build the next generation tech, life sciences and VC ecosystem. I'm also a lover of the arts and spend my weekends as a docent at the Museum of Fine Arts. Art spreads happiness and we could all use some extra happiness in the world!

Summer Job

I refilled the flower station at Costco and made friends with all the food sample ladies. That same summer, I also worked at a doctor’s office (thinking I would eventually become a doctor) and converted thousands of patient medical records to EMR. The best part of working at a doctor’s office? Free lunches from pharma sales reps! Notice a pattern?

New pandemic routine

I went from being a high intensity boutique fitness go-er pre-pandemic to doing a daily Zoom yoga session with my closest friends.

Skill you’d like to get better at

I’m working on my down-the-line forehand right now!
